We are well-known in the UK and internationally for designing and making individually hand-built bikes, that stand out for their high-end design, beautiful finish and superior performance.
First established in 2003, our business originally focused on one-off, made-to-order frames, mostly drop-bar off-road bikes, mountain and road bikes. In 2011 we moved to larger premises and our team grew to include specialist welders and painters, while at the same time we invested in tooling and growing our custom build range.
Today, nearly every Shand bike begins and ends its production life in our workshops. We help customers with individual sizing, deal with the raw tubing from our suppliers, frames are welded and tested and then painted. Our commuter bike – the Shand Leveret – was designed in Scotland and is the only model currently manufactured by our partner factory in Asia. The final assembly process, whether your bike is entirely hand-built or ready to ride, is undertaken by our in-house team using high quality components before being test-ridden and delivered to the customer.
