Stoater Rohloff
It could be the only bike you ever need
The Stoater Rohloff is designed to be a versatile bike at home on road, towpaths, singletrack and pretty much any terrain you can throw at it. With a full complement of braze-ons (extra custom braze-ons can be added on request) and a stable but comfortable ride, the Stoater makes an exceptional performance touring or gravel bike.
Designed and built specifically around the Rohloff Speedhub, the Gates Carbon Belt Drive is fitted as standard with belt tension adjusted using our innovative PF30 EBB solution. Add in clearance for tyres up to 45mm, this makes for an extremely versatile and reliable touring bike or commuter.
01
Built from high-spec custom Zona tubing from legendary Italian tube manufacturer Columbus, we wanted this bike to be an antidote to the uninspiring steel touring bikes of yesterday. Now you don’t have to sacrifice fun and speed for stability and load carrying capabilities.
The Stoater, because of its geometry and tubeset, gives you everything you want in a predictable, fast tourer. Versatility is key, that’s why you’re as likely to see a Stoater doing an Alpine tour in the summer as you are doing laps at the local ‘cross race in winter.
Mudguard and rack options make the Stoater the perfect choice for your daily commute and options for bigger tyres (including 650B Road Plus) opens up alternative routes you might not have considered previously. Dynamo, lighting and USB charging options keep you visible and connected when off-grid or on the daily commute. The bike as standard is fitted with a Co-Motion rotary shifter, or can be upgraded to use an integrated SRAM paddle shifter and a Gebla Rohbox, in place of the Rohloff transfer box at extra cost.
As with the majority of Shand bikes, modular cable routing and rear dropouts can be changed to be compatible with single speed or derailleur drivetrains at a later date. If you’re ordering a frame only, the modular rear dropouts are available with the following transmission and disc brake options.
- 135×10 QR
- 142×12 bolt-thru
- Rohloff
- Singlespeed
- Derailleur (including direct mount)
- IS, Post and Flat disc brake mounts
- Integrated frame splitter for beltdrive
BOTH STOATER ROHLOFF AND DERAILLEUR BULD ARE AVAILABLE WITH FLAT BARS, THE GEOMETRY HAS BEEN ADJUSTED TO ALLOW FOR THIS RIDING POSITION VERY SLIGHTLY. IF GOING FLAT BAR PLEASE MENTION IN ORDER NOTES.
