Bahookie Rohloff Dropbar
Rohloff equipped dropbar off-road tourer.
Inspired by multi-day/multi-week self-supported rides like the Tour Divide and our own HT550 and Cairngorm Loop, the Bahookie Dropbar Rohloff is a real off-road tourer. With full rack mounts you can fit any combination of racks, panniers or bikepacking bags to get the travel setup you want.
If you’re looking for a real mile-muncher, the Bahookie dropbar flies along less technical trails with 29er wheels and less aggressive tread. Dropbars with multiple hand-positions help reduce fatigue on multi-day trips – as do 650B+ wheels and tyres (up to 3”), providing comfort during long days in the saddle or on rougher terrain.

Fitted with a 14 speed Rohloff Speedhub and Gates Carbon Beltdrive, maintenance is minimal and lubrication after each ride is a thing of the past – perfect for off-road touring. Previously, the only way to change gears with Rohloff Speedhub was with a twist shifter. This is a reliable and easy to use system, but for riders used to dropbar STI style shifting it can feel a little unusual. The integrated shifter uses a SRAM shifter to provide a familiar shifting and a Gebla Rohbox in place of the Rohloff transfer box. The SRAM shifter is paired with the SRAM Rival hydraulic disk brake system. Belt tension is provided by an EBB (eccentric bottom bracket) that fits into a standard 73mm PF30 bottom bracket shell and the belt is fitted by way of a discrete frame splitter in the rear dropout.
As with the majority of Shand bikes, modular cable routing and rear dropouts can be changed to be compatible with single speed or derailleur drivetrains at a later date. If you’re ordering a frame only, the modular rear dropouts are available with the following transmission and disc brake options.
- 135×10 QR
- 142×12 bolt-thru
- Rohloff
- Singlespeed
- Derailleur with 1x crank (including direct mount)
- IS, Post and Flat disc brake mounts
- Integrated frame splitter for belt drive
