A Look at 2025…

As the year draws to a close, we’ve been taking a moment to look back at what has been, without question, one of the most challenging periods in Shand Cycles’ history.

This year has not been an easy one. Running an independent bike company is never simple and the past twelve months have tested us. Reclaiming our independence has been a huge step for us, one we’re incredibly proud of, but it’s also been a real trial. There have been long days, hard decisions and moments where simply keeping the wheels turning took everything we had.

Through it all, one thing has stood out above everything else: the support of our customers and community.

To everyone who placed an order, waited patiently for a build, sent us a message of encouragement, or simply kept believing in what we do – thank you. Your patience, understanding and loyalty have meant more to us than we can easily put into words. Shand Cycles exists because of riders who value thoughtfully designed, hand-built steel bikes and this year has reminded us just how lucky we are to have that community behind us.

Looking ahead, we’re genuinely excited about what’s coming next.

One of the first things we’re delighted to share is the introduction of our new modular UDH dropout system. This is something we’ve been working on quietly, with an eye firmly on the future. The modular design gives us, and you, far more flexibility, compatibility and longevity. It’s about future-proofing our frames, improving serviceability and continuing to design bikes that adapt, rather than becoming obsolete.

And that’s not all…

We can’t say too much just yet, but we can offer a small tease: a new Pinion-based frame is on the horizon. It’s a project that fits perfectly with our long-standing love of durable, low-maintenance, go-anywhere bikes. Designed for riders who want simplicity, reliability and long-distance capability, this is one we’re incredibly excited about and we think you will be too. More details will follow in the new year.

As we head into the next chapter, our focus remains unchanged: building practical, beautifully made steel bikes that are meant to be ridden hard, ridden far and kept for years. We’re moving forward with renewed energy, hard-earned lessons and a clear sense of purpose.

Thank you for being part of the journey: past, present and future. We’re looking forward to what comes next, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
